About Me

Hello, I’m Katie

A five-year-old Katie wrote in her diary:

”I have a dreen [dream] that I can be an artist when I grow up. I’ll be dlighted [delighted] to do that. I’ll be very dlighted [delighted].”

20 years later, I’m slightly better at spelling and I’m living out my artist dreams! After receiving a BS in Psychology and BA in Art in 2021, I did a quick stint in the insurance industry before becoming a full-time illustrator in 2022.

Now I spend my days creating at my studio in Philadelphia, PA. My time is split between illustration work and documenting my life as an artist online. I’d love to pursue more projects in the children’s book publishing realm!

I’m inspired by ordinary life occurrences, shared experiences with loved ones, delicious food, and nature. I love texture, vivid colors, and whimsical characters. Recently, I’ve dived fully into traditional mediums like gouache, graphite, colored pencils, and pastels. But still continue to use digital tools to elevate my work. At the studio, I’m sketching out ideas, making messes with paint, filming for social media, brushing up on my writing, editing videos, and planning upcoming projects.

In my free time you can find me relaxing with a good book (let’s be friends on GoodReads), playing with Miso at the dog park, cooking a new recipe I found on Tiktok, and staying active through a mix of pole, yoga, and pilates.
